What are the L.I.O.N. Tenets?

The RBE L.I.O.N. Tenets and pledge were developed integrated into our school culture and daily routines during the 2021-2022 school year. The L.I.O.N. Tenets stand for Leadership, Innovation, Ownership, and Never Give Up. Grade level tenets that define student expectations as they move through the grade levels were developed and introduced during the 2022-2023 school year. Tenets were built by collaborative teams in close alignment with our school vision and mission.

How are we intentionally integrating LION Tenets?

The L.I.O.N. pledge is said daily with morning announcements. Students can receive positive office referrals for exhibiting a L.I.O.N. tenet. One tenet is focused on in each grade level per quarter. This tenet is incorporated into students' quarterly PBLs and teachers are welcome and encouraged to incorporate this tenet into classroom activities.

How do students earn a L.I.O.N. Tenet Award?

Teachers use the tenet section of PBL rubrics, observations during PBL work and any classroom activities throughout the quarter to assess if students should receive a tenet award.

How many students can get a L.I.O.N. Tenet Award?

Students are challenged to earn all four L.I.O.N. Tenet Awards by the end of the school year. This means, students that are at RBE throughout grades K-5 have the opportunity to earn 24 L.I.O.N. Tenet awards or 4 awards each school year. Awards for each tenet are given out during quarterly award ceremonies.
